2023-2024 Bibi Female School Expansion Project
In Afghanistan, the closure of girls' schools left many young women without access to education, deepening gender inequality and limiting their ability to shape a better future. In response to this crisis, Pencils for Peace helped fund the Bibi Female School so they could complete a major expansion project, restoring hope and opportunity for Afghan girls. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the strength of our global community, we funded the addition of 16 new classrooms, hired additional dedicated staff, and expanded the school’s capacity to welcome hundreds more students.
The newly transformed campus now features modern classrooms, advanced technology, and dedicated spaces for extracurricular activities—creating a safe and supportive environment where students can grow academically, discover their passions, and build the skills they need to succeed.
This expansion is more than just bricks and mortar—it’s a bold step toward restoring dignity, empowerment, and long-term opportunity for Afghan youth, especially girls who have been systematically excluded from learning.
